The Cognitive Genesis Study uncovered some strikingly specific data on exactly what it is that makes the difference. To get the word out, we’ve made ten short videos narrated by Dick Duerksen.

The 15-page bookazine was designed to present the results of the CognitiveGenesisstudy in a concise and appealing manner in language accessible to parents and other interested parties.

The CognitiveGenesis study gathered massive amounts of data about the academic performance of almost 52,000 students from 2006 to 2009 in more than 800 Adventist elementary schools and academies in the United States. Three key findings emerged from the study:

1. Students in Adventist schools outperform. In all grades, in schools of all sizes, students in Adventist schools outperformed the national average in all subjects.
2. Students in Adventist schools overachieve. Students in Adventist schools score well above the national average on standardized achievement tests and above what would be predicted based on their ability test scores.
3. Students in Adventist schools gain even more with time. Students who transferred to Adventist schools saw a marked improvement in test scores. Furthermore, the longer students are in Adventist schools, the better their achievements and abilities.

Despite these impressive results, many parents still have a misconception that other schools offer a more rigorous curriculum and provide a better education for their kids. The bookazine is a powerful instrument to effectively address this mistaken belief with empirical evidence.
